Just because designers strive to make objects cleaner and simpler, it doesn’t mean thats what the user wants. To some, these designs can feel cold and empty, lacking the emotions they need to attach themselves to them. In this case, sometimes a little more complexity is desirable. Adornments can create warmth and expression. Creating a balance between simplicity and complexity is important and the goal is to create objects that are simple but not impersonal. Trust is a big part of simplicity too. Trusting makes choosing easier. If you have trust in a company, or design the buying experience is less stressful which harbors simplicity. If the consumer is unsure, a simple process of buying and enjoying can turn into indecision and confusion.
