Key 1 talked about be able to do more things remotely, and that creating simplicity and instilling some ease for the user. Something like linking to a google maps from our application to show a street view of a gallery or museum for our application would make their experience faster, and easier (since they already know how to navigate google maps)
Key 2 is about openness and Open systems. Open systems place unique demands on the economics of trust. If something is open, some may trust it more, while other less. It is a tricky subject that designers need to understand. We must know our audience and what they would prefer in order to decide on whether to be open or closed. I think this is very interesting and is so dependent on the subject of the product.
